Movie Collectibles

One of the biggest films and book series around has finally started spawning action figure collectibles. Twilight, love it or loathe it, is huge right now, and collectibles companies are starting to take note at last, with all kinds of stuff on the way.

The twilight novels and movie have been a huge success the world over, so it is only right that an action figure line would surface. Surprisingly, there is only one figure available so far, and that is lead vamp Edward Cullen, portrayed in the film by Brit Robert Pattinson. More action figures are to be released before the second film, New Moon, arrives this November, but for now, Team Edward will have to placate themselves with this one.

The sculpt is actually very good, which is nice to see on a 7 inch figure lately. Presented in a movie authentic costume and in excellently designed clamshell packaging, this Edward Cullen figure will no doubt introduce a fair few fans to the world of collectible action figures. While the figure is a bit light on the accessories front, and indeed the fact there is only one figure in this wave, it is a very promising look at what is to come, and judging by its popularity I'm sure we'll be seeing more Twilight figures arriving before too long. The Edward and Bella double pack is next!
