Since the WATCHMEN movie came out and blew most people away with its awesome take on the comic book classic, new fans have been flocking to comic and collectible stores to find the best of the movie merchandise to feed their need for all things with a big yellow logo. Six busts were created and offered by DC Direct as part of the Watchmen movie merchandise range, and they are pretty cool too. Each of them stands approximately six-to-seven inches high and features an strong (if not perfect) sculpt.

Set in cold-cast porcelain and limited to 5000 pieces per character, these busts are a great collectible for the discerning Watchmen fan. The set includes the modern versions of the Comedian, Nite Owl, Rorschach, Silk Spectre and Dr. Manhattan, each of them mounted on a display base bearing a character-specific emblem. Not sure about the emblems really, as the Watchmen characters don’t really have them, but I can live with 'em as the busts are really quite cool.

Watchmen is a property where DC Direct have got the merchandise pretty right. The Watchmen action figures that were also released in conjunction with the movie were some of the best that DC Direct have offered, and their packaging was exquisite, clearly aimed at the collector market. If you’ve got the figures and want something with a bit more class, then these busts are ideal.
