The Star Wars collectibles market throws up some incredible pieces from time to time. That is certainly the case here, with a beautiful framed Giclee print available to pre-order from Sideshow Collectibles. The print is limited to just 50 pieces, and while the price tag is enormous, it really is a stunning piece of collectable art that would look incredible as the centerpiece to any Star Wars collection. The Star wars Stormtrooper - Framed Giclee on Canvas is made by ACME Archives, and is a gorgeous image. Each individual piece features custom matting and frames specially designed by Parker Jordan Fine Art, and each one comes signed and embellished by artist Brian Rood.

The print measures 18 inches by 24 inches, and the frame adds a good deal more size, making the print stand out as a formidable piece of art as well as an excellent example of high-end, museum quality Star Wars memorabilia. Sure to be snapped up the second it comes onto the market, the Star Wars Stormtrooper - Framed Giclee on Canvas really puts the 'Fine' into Sideshow's Fine Art series. A brilliant piece for the serious Star Wars collector.

Oh dear, sweet Elvira, the object of many teenage daydreams. Sideshow have made some sterling Elvira items in the poast, and this new action figure looks just as cool. The thing is, this is a regular action figure, and will be made available at a very reasonable price (Check out Sideshow's site for more info). The figure will stand approximately 7 inches tall and come attached to her display base. She doesn;t appear to be articulated, but she does look fantastic. More collectibles of this size and price range would be great.

This is fantastic. Look at that facial sculpt. It is so emotive! Perfectly capturing the stern gaze of Christian Bale as John Connor in the new Terminator Salvation movie, this premium format figure from Hot Toys is to made available through Sideshow in the 3rd quarter of 2009. The figure looks fantastic, and if you can drag your eyes away from that ridiculously accurate facial sculpt you'll notice that the figure’s costume and accessories are just as brilliant. This really is the best premium format figure I’ve seen on offer in a very long time, and judging by fan interest in the movie and new Terminator merchandise, there will certainly be some rabid fans clambering to get their hands on it. Right, you may now go and check out that awesome sculpt again.

Fans of the humble model kit can rejoice- especially if they like their Marvel goodies. While the model kit scene seems to be suffering greatly due to the recession, there are still some awesome items being made available. Take these kits for example. There are kits available of both the Mk2 and Mk3 versions of the Iron Man armour, both of which look fantastic. The kits are taken from digital data that was used to make the props for the movie itself, so they are extremely accurate. Supplied with decals for rivet details, the kits are 1/8 scale and are intended for ages 15 and up. These are agreat idea for less-pricey collectibles from Sideshow, and ideal for collectors and model hobby enthusiasts.

The twilight novels and movie have been a huge success the world over, so it is only right that an action figure line would surface. Surprisingly, there is only one figure available so far, and that is lead vamp Edward Cullen, portrayed in the film by Brit Robert Pattinson. More action figures are to be released before the second film, New Moon, arrives this November, but for now, Team Edward will have to placate themselves with this one.

The sculpt is actually very good, which is nice to see on a 7 inch figure lately. Presented in a movie authentic costume and in excellently designed clamshell packaging, this Edward Cullen figure will no doubt introduce a fair few fans to the world of collectible action figures. While the figure is a bit light on the accessories front, and indeed the fact there is only one figure in this wave, it is a very promising look at what is to come, and judging by its popularity I'm sure we'll be seeing more Twilight figures arriving before too long. The Edward and Bella double pack is next!

Here's an oldie but a goodie. The Scarface 'The World is Yours' statue was released by Mezco a few years ago and remains a popular item amongst fans of that overplayed, overrated film. The Scarface 'The World is Yours' statue stands 10 inches tall and is a perfect recreation of the statue seen on Tony Montana's desk in the movie. With a gold effect finish it certainly looks the part, but the materials used in making the statue aren't of the best quality. Still, the piece looks great and is a constantly popular item for Scarface fans to get hold of and introduce to their little friends.

Sideshow Collectibles are always on the ball with their Star Wars collectibles. It must be said that their selections of Star Wars items are usually much more tasteful than many of their comic and movie products. That isn’t a sleight against the company or their artists- not at all- it is just that the Star Wars range seems to be a little more subtle and refined.

Sure, that is a bit much to expect from a range of collectibles based on a series of SF movies, but these things are about as good as it gets when it comes to collectibles.

One new item of note that Sideshow will be releasing in the 3rdf quarter of 2009 is the Obi Wan Kenobi Dual Display Diorama, subtitled 'Sabotage'. This excellent new diorama depicts a key scene from Star Wars: A New Hope, in which Obi Wan Kenobi seeks to help the alliance forces escape the Death Star. The diorama is to be cast in heavyweight cold-cast polystone, hand finished, hand numbered and packaged in Sideshow's customarily excellent fashion.

The diorama can be removed from its display base and wall-mounted should you so desire. It also features an LED function in the Reactor Core portion of it. While the Obi Wan model supplied isn’t the finest of Alec Guiness sculpts, it is still of an extremely high standard and is would make an excellent addition to any Star wars fan's hive of scum and villainy.
